The UniJoint straight dozer is not an angle dozer, it is a unique straight dozer group that eliminates the need for moving parts in the diagonal bracing.
The group features two stiff "L" shaped push arms connected at the centre behind the blade with a resilient coupling. By design, the arms are stiff enough to resist side ways thrusts eliminating the need for diagonal bracing.
The resilient UniJoint coupling between the two arms allows them to flex relative to each other when tilting the blade. Conventional tilt struts, manual or hydraulic are added to control tip and tilt functions.
UniJoint is unique and well suited to working in adverse environments such as tailing ponds or salt lakes where abrasive intrusions destroy friction connections prematurely.
A second advantage is that the UniJoint allows the moldboard to be mounted closer to the tractor reducing the forward overhung load on the undercarriage.
