Mining Sales Engineer

CWS is a leading supplier of quality attachments in the mining industry. We design and manufacture a full complement of heavy equipment attachments including buckets, blades, couplers, tire manipulators and cable reelers as well as custom engineered products.

We need a mining sales engineer to join our winning sales team, covering mines in the USA. The sales engineer combines solid technical knowledge with proven sales skills.

To ensure customer's and CWS's needs are met, the sales engineer will liaise regularly with other members of the sales team and colleagues from a range of departments, such as design, purchasing, production, and quality, as well as senior company managers.

Typical work activities
  • Use your existing network of customers in the mining industry to present CWS products;
  • Searching for new mining customers who might benefit from CWS products and maximizing customer potential in the USA;
  • Persuading clients that a product best satisfies their needs in terms of design, quality, price and delivery;
  • Qualifying accounts to ensure efficient use of time and expenses;
  • Use strong negotiating skills for closing sales by agreeing to price, terms and conditions;
  • Travelling to visit potential customers; road warrior - 75% travel required
  • Developing and growing long-term relationships with customers;
  • Managing and interpreting customer requirements - speaking with customers to understand, anticipate and meet their needs;
  • Liaising with the estimating department to help in calculating quotations;
  • Offering after-sales support services;
  • Preparing reports for head office;
  • Meeting regular sales targets;
  • Recording and maintaining client contact data;
  • Supporting marketing activities by attending trade shows, conferences and other marketing events;
  • Making technical presentations and demonstrating how a product meets customer needs;
  • Liaising with other members of the sales team and other technical experts;
  • Solving client problems;
  • Helping in the design of custom-made products;
  • Providing training and producing support material for customers.
Criteria:
  • 6-figure income potential for high achiever
  • Minimum 10 years mining industry sales experience in the territory
  • Must be familiar with heavy equipment used in mines (wheel loaders, shovels, dozers, excavators, lift trucks, etc.)
  • Engineering diploma required
  • Consistent track record of sales success required
  • Strong written & verbal communication skills
  • Ability to sell to all levels of a customer’s organization
  • Location in any US major city is OK.
  • Must be able to work well with internal sales and engineering team
  • References required from customers and employers
